Anthracitic a hard, shiny coal that has high carbon content. It is valued as a fuel because it burns with a clean flame and without smoke or odor, but it is much less abundant than bituminous coal. it is often used as civil fuel and for power generation, but that of better quality can be used as raw material for gasification and as fuel for blast furnace blowing and iron ore sintering, or to produce calcium carbide, electrode and carbon.
